If you wish to make your operating system more appealing, then PaperPlane is something you may want to look at. It gives you the possibility of accessing your favorite applications and accessories just like on an iPad. Instead of wasting time looking for an executable in Windows Explorer or in the Start menu, you can have your important items on one screen, on which they are much easier to spot.

The application is absolutely free and it works on various Windows versions, from Win XP to Win 10. It comes in a small package and it can be installed quickly and easily. Furthermore, you don't have to meet any special requirements and you don't have to sacrifice too many resources to run this application.

Running PaperPlane on your computer is all you have to do. While it works quietly in the background, you can just click its system tray icon or touch the lower left corner of the screen with your mouse pointer, to bring up a modern and elegant launch screen. It feels just like the Windows 8 Start screen, but without the ugly Metro tiles.

The launch screen displays all the executables you have in the Start menu and you can launch them with a single click. Also, the icons can be manipulated like on an iOS device. You can move them by clicking and dragging and if you hold down the mouse button on one of the icons, a delete symbol will show up on all icons. Additionally, you may create folders by simply dropping an icon on top of another.

Launching your favorite applications can be done in a comfortable and elegant manner when using PaperPlane.

Pros

You can launch your commonly used applications from an iOS-style screen. The software places a quick search functions at your disposal. Also, it lets you move and delete icons and you can also create folders.

Cons

The possibility of pinning icons to prevent them from being moved automatically would be a welcomed feature.
